Rooted in the Blue Ridge Mountains, New River Getaways is a locally owned short-term rental and vacation rental management company serving the New River Valley, Claytor Lake, Draper, and Southwest Virginia. Founded by husband-and-wife team Sunny and Kalem, our business grew from real hosting experience, local knowledge, and over a decade of mixed hospitality expertise.

Our hosting journey began in 2020, after years of working in high end hospitality companies, when we welcomed guests into our very first tiny home rental. What started as a personal hosting experience quickly became a passion for creating memorable stays in unique homes across the region. As hosts ourselves, we understand the small details that turn a stay into an experience - thoughtful amenities, responsive communication, and spaces that feel warm and cared for.

Before launching New River Getaways, we worked alongside other property management companies in the New River Valley, helping clean, maintain, and care for short-term rental homes. That hands-on experience gave us deep insight into what homeowners truly need - and showed us an opportunity to do things differently, with more transparency, stronger communication, and a higher level of care for both homes and guests.

Today, we offer full-service Airbnb and Vrbo property management, including listing creation and optimization, dynamic pricing, guest communication, professional cleaning coordination, maintenance oversight, and direct booking support. We intentionally keep our portfolio small so each property receives personalized attention and every homeowner has a true partner - not just a manager.
